Boy i say u is a brave man to touch that topic ana. anny how i will put my little piece now and maybe a little after. Now wen the bible was finish it took about 44 authors that were inspired by the holy spirit, they didnt write it on their own, now these different different religions have their own translations and opinions over what the bible says or should say and that basically is wat they fighting over who is right which in fact if u not led by the holy spirit u cant be right.

Religion plays the greatest role for all the wars and problems that we experience intoday's world.
Lets at the middle east, world's greatest battle ground in today's morden sociey, where muslims feel that they indebted to continue thier potlical jahid...... It is their faith that allah why they fight and will fight unitl doomsday come.

2. Religion keep all the poor people incheck by reminding them that there is a greater reward and all the bullshit poeople do now GOD will take care of in due time

3.Abortions, Homosexuality etc.. depends on how you interpret the bible you can easily credit these types of actions, and again the bible say GOD forgive all so do it now ask for forgivness later.

Humans will use the power of religion to justify the killing of a child "angels tell me do it" while relgion will allow us to in turn turn the other cheek... religion biggest controller of humans

mental facalities are fill with people who confuse them self with this tearm 'religion"....is only two thing belive or u don't belive ...
muslim are the follwers of islam and islam is a faith, that belives that there is only one god exsist.they are the second largest relegion in the world.They belive the word muslim means one who surrenders or submit ones self to god.hence the name allah which means GOD in islamic tearm..they belive that god reveals his words through prophits such as muhammid,jesus ec,t which was then delevered to mand kind.. and there main source of written record that was dedicated to mankind is the holy qur'an.which the belives this book is without flaw or imperfection.and they believe that this book is missinterpreted by some religions such as Judaism and Christianity.the Sunni and Shi'ite are what make up islam but they have diffrent belives.just for the record islam was build up in ethiopia.

So islam see the infedel as people who does not accept allah"God".as u can see in today world the infidel or the "non belivers" worship material things practices racisim wordships animals ect ect.which means the dont follow the messages of the bible so islam belive these people are to be killed hence declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world.and the believe in killing an infidel the are assured a place in heaven.
i can go on and on but there only two real thing is belive or dont believe...

On the tearm of rasta yes they do believe there is a God...Whats they dont belive in is "jesus" which they say is the white God.Rastafari religon is know as Rastafarianism, which is believe to started in jamaica..that i aint know how true it is.rastafari believes attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors of black people was stolen by they early slave trade.and they way the was force upon to live.So they emerge to sort of bring back they way they see african should be living.They are known to accept Haile Selassie I the former emperor of ethiopia as "JAH" ,the rasta name for God.The name Rastafari comes from Ras (Duke) Tafari Makonnen, the pre-coronation name of Haile Selassie I. who was the only african king in the world.

there was other factors that lead to rastafari rise in society such as political aspiration and teaching of marcus garvey..whose vision help to spark this new movement,this religion is spread through out the world through reggae music most noticiable...almost 25 % of the caribbean is rastafari with an increas of .5% annually.Most Rastafarians are vegetarian, or only eat limited types of meat, living by the dietary Laws of Leviticus and Deuteronomy .

jeneille it would seem to me u know what is the true picture of God? cuase u mention that 'the picture that is painted is inaccurate'...why not share it with me.i been doing soem researches and i happen to stumble upon mahatman ghandi book "The Social Philosophy Of Mahatma Gandhi,'and i wish to quote the amazing theory the he preached..
And i quote ' I do dimly perceive that whilst everything around me is ever changing, ever dying, there is underlying all that change a living power that is changeless, that holds all together, that creates, dissolves, and re-creates. That informing power or spirit is God. And since nothing else that I see merely through the senses can or will persist, He alone is.
And is this power benevolent or malevolent? I see it as purely benevolent. religion is a belief system, that being said once you have got rid of that system its replaced by another , take america for example their belief system is the consitiution life liberty and freedom , because they discarded christianity when they seperated church and state instead of invading iraq in the name of god , they did it in the name of freedom , killing murder and suicide are in itself are against the beliefs of all major religions, same with the u.s constitution and morals and laws , but there are still hundreds of thousands of dead iraqi's because of it.

we as humans can be divided by difference's race , nationality , beliefs , regardless of where there derived from.
"thou shalt not kill" i believe that is one of the ten commandments and even so , millions died in crusades but it wasnt about who's god was right it was too make pull everyone under the same belief system , often because humans had found ways to exploit it.

Our belief systems are there to create harmony within our societies , jews and muslims lived in peace in the holy land for thousands of years it wasnt until the british and other members of the league of nations tore thousands of palistinians from their homes and lands and placed jewish victims of the holocaust in their place , even though the jew's suffered great tragedy during those times , if 10's of thousands of garifuna were to be brought back from roatan and honduras , for similar reasons . displacing vincy's all around the country overseen by a outside nation such as america 80 years from now there would still be hatred to be had by vincies for the garifuna.

religion is not responsible its simply the conduit by which those who wish to wage war or terrorism exploit , after all if your attempting to convince a people to potentially give there lives for your cause , the first thing you do is use there beliefs against them.

The way how i look @ it , is that majority of the people in the caribbean beleive in Jesus Christ/God as the creator, well I grew up hearing that and reading about it too in the bible, and if i may point out back in biblical times when there was drought in the land for 40 days or so and God told Elijah "hey tell my people that it's goin to rain, and he need to build an alter of stick and offer up a sacrifice to him" so him told the people and gather around and lets see who has the true and living GOD in that lets see who God would answer, Elijah build a trench around the alter and even pour water on the alter and even full the trench. Meanwhile them other guys calling on them other gods buda, mohamed and others to show them any sign, that went on for hours til almost sunset, At one point Elijah start mocking them say "call harder maybe your god is asleep" them no get an answer, well Ejijah did his thing and GOD answer by fire and consume all the alter of sticks and including all the water that was in the trench. I said all that to say that there i only One true GOD. The problem however though is that we in the christian faith are the one who have the system soo polital incline, in that we change the word soo much to suit us and casuing people to go astraw or not coming to GOD, we say ooh you must not eat this or drink that when GOD say Bless and Eat, ohh don't wear that when GOD said ren your heart and not your garment. so most people would rather stay out of the system and then the devil find work for the idle hand them and cause all these wars going bout in the world today

I do agree that religion do cause tension between individuals as someone rightly said people always want u to confirm to his or her religion!!In my eyes religion shouldnt be the big issue...because at the end of the day is the one God we serve and that should be the opnly thing that counts acknowledgin there is a God give him thanks & praises & just living a good life!!To me religion is not biggie & it shouldnt be...religion is just a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects.Once we serve the same God is all peace

Why are people so quick to leap on religion? It seems to be blamed for just about everything, most notably war and terrorism.

So why is this?

Well in regards to war and terrorism, it’s the extreme fanatics that use the name of religion to fight causes that actually go against everything those religions stand for. Muslims for example, find the practice of murdering innocent people on mass with suicide bombers a complete abomination, particularly as - like most religions - it preaches peace.

But the process of blaming religions for war and terrorism is as warped as the notion that football is entirely responsible for hooliganism.

If religion had never existed, do you think wars and terrorism would never have existed? Of course not and if you believe otherwise, you open yourself up to understandable allegations of severe naivety. No, those who perpetrate war and acts of terror do it because that is the way they are. If they couldn’t align themselves to Islam or Christianity, they would align themselves to some other cause.
