Now that Carnival 2010 is over and all the dust clears, one thing for sure is that in some way we all did PARTY HARD.... and we are also talking about the mega hit song from UK artist Donae'o. The song was a major mover at fetes but not the original version as deejays chose to play the more upbeat soca remix done by Vincy Artist, Problem Child whose real name is Johnny Fontaine. According to Donae'o in an interview conducted by an entertainment blog, this is what he has to say on the remix:
"I didn't collaborate with Problem Child. I only found out about the BOOTLEG the other day. I didn't authorize the remix...he
found the instrumental and recorded his own version without my permission".
And when asked if he had any intention of performing the track with Problem Child, he bluntly responded "NO". Donae'o whose real name is Ian Greenidge also states that Mr Fontaine never even attempted to contact him until after the song went mainstream in the Caribbean and also stated that..."I feel and felt disrespected and exploited..both me and my music were exploited". Donae'o also sent the message that he will NEVER authorize the remix.
However, upon further investigation by Trini Macco Zone, according to the Vincy Artist, Problem Child via twitter, he claims that the Unofficial Remix was actually leaked without his knowledge and it was done to actually try and coax the UK based artist into doing an Official Remix.
But with a name such as Problem Child...what do you really expect??
Femme, If all the information on this issue is accurate...I think Problem Child "pull a fast one" and Donae have all right to be pissed...I also think Donae is being foolish to not embrace the situation...its gone so already, why not try to CAPITALIZE on Problem Child's success....but hey, if Donae feels so moved to go after Problem Child...I think he has legit reasons to...of course, Donae, ain't know who he messing with and just might get his....whhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeee ARSE...TURN OVA!!!..lol.
