St.Vincent and the grenadines is a small country we all know that , and their will always be issue/ controversies about who likes/dislikes, but the radio stations are privately owned and could or should play what ever they want, its not like they are a government radio station , if you guys have a problem with them simply stop listening to the radio station and switch to what station you like , the world has become modernize we all have choices , I love all those artist you mention don’t get me wrong but reality is reality , if I cant get them on hot97 I either buy a CD or switch my radio from time to time , hot fm is a great radio station and what they want to do is there choice simple

you cant look at it as a matter of choice only if hot97 is number one they should try and play music to make everyone comfortable,its privately owned yes but we cant jus look at it that way do you listen 2 too kool in the morning and how he beats up on everyone? Last week he was criticising another radio station bcuz the are carrying out their station policy.....so is the same we should criticise their station when they carry out policies we dont like....

I understand what you are saying, but I was not making the point on 2 kool i was talking about the music, I don’t listen to him that much because when am on my way to work sometimes the bus am travelling with playing cds, and I can't say anything on what he said or not because I did not here him, all I know sometimes we vincentian put allot to meaning. But at the end it’s the fans that make the station number one so its there choice if they want to listen to the station of not and am beginning to think the more there is controversy in something is more we vincentian welcome it. And as am trying to say always I respect everyone opinion I may not agree to it but I respect it and we should all do the same.

Your post is a BIT NAIVE. Like you said, SVG is a small nation, so it is UNFORTUNATE to know that HOT 97 has CHOSEN not to play CERTAIN artists songs.

Your attitude is the wrong position to take on this issue. If you're GENUINELY INTERESTED in why certain artists' songs are not played on HOT 97, then the position that you should be taking is to FIND out what this is all about.

I am pretty sure that if HOT 97 was not the #1 station in SVG they would not have taken that position. You guys tend to accept things at face value and that is why PEOPLE do the things that they do. Our music should be exposed regionally and internationally, as much as possible, and to have HOT 97 taking the POSITION of not playing CERTAIN artists music is a step in the WRONG direction.

What we need to find out is why HOT 97 has taken this POSITION??

Always REMEMBER that ADVERTISERS are PARAMOUNT in the FINANCIAL success of a radio station. Maybe the SOCA DANS and their SUPPORTERS should let it be known that they're not doing business with business houses that advertise on HOT 97, or maybe they should alert these advertisers as to what is going on, so they can directly put pressure on HOT 97's management to change their decision to not play the music of the Soca Dans.

What is clear to me is that we're doing a DISSERVICE to the VINCY MUSIC INDUSTRY when we do not play the MUSIC of our artists, especially those of our TOP artists. Whatever caused HOT 97 to take the position of not playing certain artists music, I believe both parties need to sit down and work things out.

remember my views was sharing about why I think people should not make an issue about it , I think everything someone says we try to take out the very negative part of it and keep the positive hidden . And this issue is my personal opinion it’s not be being naive, why is it I never put judgment to other people opinion. Please respect my opinion as I respect yours, I said what I said and I don’t have to justify anything to no one is not in court. its the people said they where 1# not me, and its PRIVATELY owned , please take up this with the owners i have nothing else to say , reading my article was not saying they are right it was telling people of their choice

Don't play their music! I support you 100%. These guys in the Soca Dans are too hype off of nothing. They carry on like they are bigger celebrities than Jay z and Beyonce them. Take a look at these guys when carnival comes, they look down on common Vincentians ( their own fans). Luta can't sing, Jamesy P is too hype and Fireman needs to clean up himself, after winning soca monarch for so many years, I would not even say the rest. These guys in the Soca Dans lack professionalism...... They are too hype!.......you could imagine if they ever get as big as Machel Montano and Bunji them, we will can't even pass and watch them. LOL

I cannot agree with your suggestion that the station not play The Soca Dans music. This would be setting a bad precedence. We need to embrace our own. Let's not forget that these guys have been making a contribution to Vincy over the years. I do hope that Hot97 would be able to put"petty" differences aside and give these guys a Bligh. What I would agree with is that some of our local artiste seem to forget that their fans are also their customers and they need to treat them with utmost repect. Without the fans they would be nothing. Vincentains seem to think that being professional is a crime. But, maybe it's just because we Vincies settle for anything.
