Aphesha Matthews

APHESHA MATTHEWS

She was born on September 4, 1991 from parents Michelle Matthews and Alston Murray. Her name is Aphesha Trisha Sophia Matthews.

She attended Stubbs Government School and was successful in the Common Entrance Examination in June 2003. As a result she attended the St. Vincent Girls’ High School where she obtained seven CSEC subjects including Mathematics and English Language in 2008.

Aphesha believes that netball, singing and dancing are only some of her hobbies as a talented young lady. She thinks that interacting with friends and family are equally important. While attending Girls’ High School, she was part of the netball team, which contributed to the team winning Vita Malt Secondary Championship in 2005, after losing the title for ten years. She also won the first Independence Song Competition held in 2008 with her hit “Celebrate Independence”.

She attended the St. Vincent Community College in 2008 where she pursued studies in Mathematics, Principles of Accounting, Business Studies and Communication Studies.
Aphesha is currently employed as an Assistant Secretary at Maferne Mayers-Oliver Chambers in Kingstown. She has entered six previous beauty shows. The shows entered and results are as follows:
• Miss Stubbs Independent – 2004 1st Runner up
• Miss Diamond Queen – 2008 Winner
• Miss Unity Youth – 2009 1st Runner up
• Miss Stubbs Heritage – 2009 1st Runner up
• Miss North Leeward – 2009 2nd Runner up
• Miss Biker Babes – 2009 2nd Runner up

I wish you all the best... I want you to take your scholarship and use it well... so in three years you can say: I did not waste my time. hold your head high...
