Fya Empress wins Ragga Soca Mon 2012
Eleven artistes faced off in the National Ragga Soca Monarch Competition which was held at Carnival City Victoria Park Friday night. and it was Fya Empress who won the judges favour to take home the crown and the title of Ragga Soca Monarch 2012 with her hit song Bam Bam talk.
Also competing this year for the Ragga Soca crown were Orande 'Bomani' Charles (Sagga Boy), Tamisha Nicholls (Talk), Danielle Veira (Tell me), Zoelah Boyde (Jack it up), Cornelius 'Poorsah' Williams (Knocking Plate), Frankie 'Wise Guy' Thompson (Bumper tun over), Phil 'Dr. P' DaSilva (Carnival), Eghorne 'Troblous' Alexander (Don't let go), Aurella 'Queen B' Beache (Nice and Sweet), Shaunelle McKenzie (Ruff Rider), Godwin 'Gao' Billy (Only money she want), Troots and Ice (Sweet for so), Hance John (Down Dey) and Reaon 'Madzart' Primus (Woman love married man).
Last year's Ragga Soca competition was won by Skarpyon.
